Mission
- M1 : To achieve commendable success and academic excellence in Circular, Co-curricular and Extra-curricular activities.
- M2 : To face the challenges of construction industry for sustainable growth using inclusive Technologies.
- M3 : To strive for quality in infrastructural development by exercising quality checks in accordance with codal provisions and by-laws
- M4 : To discharge duties with Environmental, Economic and Social Considerations.
- M5 : To enable the graduates to use the available tools and technologies to Assess, Analyse and Design Civil Engineering Structures
Program Educational Objectives (PEO's):
- PEO1 :To equip graduates with fundamental knowledge necessary for a successful career in diverse field of Civil Engineering
- PEO2 :To empower graduates in Research Methodologies, Problem Solving, Innovative and Multiple Thinking in multidisciplinary domains of Civil Engineering
- PEO3 :Enable graduates to pursue higher education and research in the field of Civil Engineering, and engage in the process of life-long learning.
- PEO4 :To perform Social and Professional responsibilities in Ethical manner to serve the society.
Program Outcomes (PO’s) based on NBA graduate attributes :
- PO 1:Engineering Knowledge:Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
- PO 2:Problem Analysis:Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
- PO 3:Design/Development of solutions:Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
- PO 4:Conduct investigations of complex problems:Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
- PO 5:Modern Tool Usage:Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
- PO 6 :Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
- PO 7:Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
- PO 8:Ethics:Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
- PO 9:Individual and Team Work:: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
- PO 10:Communication:Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineeringcommunity and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
- PO 11:Project Management and Finance:Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.

About The Course :
- The Department of Civil Engineering is headed by Dr. K N Vishwanath, B.E, M.Tech, PhD
- Department of Civil Engineering is in the 4th year of its existence. Since its inception in the year 2012, the Department has seen great progress in the field of Civil Engineering both Professionally and Academics.
- The department has well qualified, trained and dedicated staff who constantly strive for the all-around development of the students. The department is well equipped with excellent and world class infrastructure which helps students to bridge the gap between the academics and industry.
- The department of Civil Engineering is associated with ICI-KB center and MoU’s with Edu CADD.
- The course aims to impart quality education to students, to bring about the skills and attributes in the field of Planning, Designing and Estimating various Civil Engineering Structures with a focus on Environmental and Sustainable development

- Secured 1st Place in Bridge-making contest at “AAKAR 2018” at NIE, Mysore on 22nd September 2018
- Students of the department organized an Inter-college technical fest “INDUS” and conducted various technical events. With student participants from external colleges.
- Secured 3rd Place in Cube Casting at “2 Day Technical Event Concreations 2018” at SJCE, Mysore on 12th and 13th November 2018
- Students have secured 1nd Place in Quick Surveying at “Dexterix 2018” at Atria Institute of technology, Bangalore on 2nd November 2018
- 4th Edition of INDUS – The Civil Engineering Magazine was released on the occasion of Engineers Day on 24th November 2018.
- The students successfully completed Extensive Survey Project – 2019 at S.S Ghati Subramaniya from 27th January 2019 to 5th February 2019. The students completed all the projects using Modern Total Stations and conventional instruments
- Final Year Students Presented and Won the Best Paper Award in the One Day national Level Conference Held at T-John College of Engineering, Bangalore – “Production of Slow Release Fertilizer from Waste Water treatment Struvite Crystallization” – The Project was guided by Prof. Shreyas B V.
