The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at DSATM offers undergraduate and doctoral programs. Approved by AICTE and affiliated to VTU, Belgaum, the department comprises of faculty with a range of research interests and a dedication to teach

Program Outcomes (PO’s) based on NBA graduate attributes :

  • PO 1:Engineering Knowledge: Apply knowledge of mathematics and science, with fundamentals of Computer Science & Engineering to be able to solve complex engineering problems related to CSE.
  • PO 2:Problem Analysis: Identify, Formulate, review research literature and analyze complex engineering problems related to CSE and reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences.
  • PO 3:Design/Development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems related to CSE and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety and the cultural societal and environmental considerations.
  • PO 4:Conduct Investigations of Complex problems: Use research–based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • PO 5:Modern Tool Usage: Create, Select and apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to computer science related complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  • PO 6:The Engineer and Society: Apply Reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the CSE professional engineering practice.

About The Course :

The CSE department is committed for creating a community of students and faculty that reflects the diversity of the world we live in, contributing to educational excellence and a dynamic campus environment. Our goal is not only to teach students, how to use current computer applications, but rather to educate them so that they understand how these applications work and can design and build the computer applications of the future. The syllabus encompasses a broad and complete curriculum that covers the "big ideas" of computer science from hardware to software and from theory to application.

With highly qualified, trained and dedicated teachers who are responsible for the overall academic growth, the department excels in the teaching-learning methodology and has a good academic track record. The learning experience here is wholesome and tailored to suit needs of the industry and independent career development. Students are encouraged to participate in state and National level competitions covering academic, sports and cultural activities.

Department has a Staff Room with the area 1829.86 Square fts. Cabin space is provided for the Assosiate professors and all the Assisstant professors are provided with separate compartments with individual wooden racks with lock facility and around 6 shared iron racks. Staff room has 3 computers and a printer for common use.

MOU

  • The Oracle Workforce Development Program (WDP) helps educational institutions around the world prepare a new generation of IT specialists to enter the workforce with the most in-demand Oracle skills. MOU signed between Oracle WDP & DSATM on 28th April 2015 for providing students authorized Oracle training content as a part of existing certificate, diploma, and/or degree programs, students can learn those relevant and desirable job skills required for the increasingly competitive work environment. The program also addresses the growing shortage of skilled employees in the global technology industry by allowing you to offer Oracle authorized training combined with the internationally recognized Oracle certification.

  • Geekslab Technologies, an integrated solution provider, is working with a motive to provide IT services and solutions as well as to spread awareness about latest technological trends amongst students all over the world. MOU signed Geekslab Technologies & DSATM on 14th August 2015 for the purpose of providing the industrial exposure and enhancing the quality of engineering education being imparted to the students .

  • MOU signed between INCYNC & DSATM on 1st July 2015 for the purpose of providing placement trainings to the students.

  • MOU signed between LiviKodez & DSATM on 09th August 2016 for the purpose of providing placement trainings to the students.

  • MOU signed between Studenting Era & DSATM on 09th August 2016 for the purpose to create an environment which will enable students to get access to get information, Services and Opportunities that will enable them to enhance their goals and objectives.

  • MOU signed between Kolar Cikkaballapura Dist. Co-op Milk Producers Societies Union Limited & DSATM on 18th July 2016 for the purpose of providing the Research Support and enhancing the quality of engineering the quality of engineering education being imparted to the students

Hed-X is the perfect Launchpad for students and institutions and helps bridge the gap between academia and industry by providing not just quality but future requisite education for the ever evolving professional environment. The program ensures that the students are placement-ready & can confidently get on to the best of career opportunities to leap-start their professional life. The training was conducted for the students of 6th CSE & ISE semester to prepare them for campus recruitment.

Square OneThe Entrepreneurship Centre at Dept. of CSE, DSATM provides a range of programming to educate and develop an entrepreneurial mindset. Students of CSE formed Square one the native entrepreneurship development cell. The aim is to give our students the skills and support to either start their own venture or to be a force for entrepreneurial change within existing organizations.Recently conducted the first ever Entrepreneurship Summit of DSI, sponsored by Hype, Channel 9 and Soapy Football Bangalore, organized by the students of Team Square One, the native entrepreneurship development cell. The event was carried out over the course of two days on the 27th and 28th of October, 2017 under the guidance of Principal, Dr. B R Lakshmikantha and Dr. C.Nandini, Vice Principal & H.O.D, C.S.E Department of DSATM and Mrs. Chaitra P C, the faculty coordinator of CSE department.2. DecodeThe tech club Decode was started to offer a platform for like minded individuals who are interested in gaining technical knowledge in the field of computer science to collaborate, seek and offer guidance. Student Branch Inaguration: (02-03-2016)

It was a day of the fulfilment of a dream to have a technical and Professional student body Computer Society of India at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. In December we started the process of registering the student branch with the Education Directorate CSI by DSATM first becoming an Institutional member of CSI for the year 2015-16.

We also enrolled over 240 student members for department of CSE and applied for the branch status for the year 2015-2016.

The guests Sri Galiswamy presided over the function and joined on stage by Dr Prakash (Vice Chairman CSI BC and Prof. DSU), Bhanumathi (Chairman CSI BC) Dr. Nandini (HOD CSE Department, DSATM).

Inaugural ceremony for the Project Exhibition was done by Dr Lakshmikantha, Principal, DSATM. This was conducted jointly by the department of CSE with CSI student Branch, DSATM. Over 15 projects were on display and demonstration in the event. This received an overwhelming response from the students of all branches of Engineering and Management at DSATM. The Best Projects were awarded prizes at the valedictory function
