The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at DSATM was established in 2011 under the affiliation of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) with an initial intake of 60 students. Over the years, it has grown remarkably, now boasting an intake of 360 students and proudly functioning under autonomous status.
The curriculum is meticulously designed to stay on par with the latest technological advancements and industry trends, ensuring that students gain both strong foundational knowledge and hands-on experience in emerging domains.
Our team of well-qualified and dedicated faculty members actively contribute to academic excellence, research and industry partnerships. The department promotes research and innovation through faculty and student publications, patent filings and real-time projects to meet the needs of a dynamic, technology-driven world. The department boasts a strong research culture and has established Center of Excellence in emerging areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) and Cloud Security, viz Microsoft Center of Excellence, Intel with Dell AI SkillBuild, AWS to name a few.
Our students have consistently excelled in academics, securing top university ranks- 1st and 9th rank VTU with 6 gold medals. The students’ innovative projects have been recognized and awarded at numerous national-level and institutional events. Through active participation in hackathons, technical competitions, research forums, internships, and industry collaborations, our students gain real-world exposure that enhances both their technical and professional skills.
The department has an excellent placement record with graduates getting placed in top companies across diverse technology sector with a highest pay package of 26LPA in Microsoft. An increasing number of students are pursing higher education in prestigious universities worldwide and many have emerged as successful entrepreneurs.
